Bestselling author Tan visits Kruger Gallery

For author Amy Tan's recent visit to the University of Nebraska–Lincoln for her E.N. Thompson Forum on World Issues talk, the Kruger Gallery held an open house of special exhibits that celebrate "The Backyard Bird Chronicles" on Sept. 24.

Tan stopped by to take a look, and Sophia Perdikaris, director of the School of Global Integrative Studies, provided background:

She is the author of many novels, including "The Joy Luck Club," "The Kitchen God's Wife," and the aforementioned title connected to the exhibits. Tan is a National Humanities Medal recipient, member of the American Academy of Arts and Letters, American Bird Conservancy board member, and a fiction writing instructor on MasterClass.
