Megan Wilson wins the undergraduate award for best poster presented at the UNL Undergraduate Research Fair.
Her UCARE project focuses on historical demography and how severe weather affected birthrates in Custer County settlers, 1870-1900. It relies on demographic information now available through FamilySearch.com coupled with information on severe weather events noted by settlers in descendant accounts and demonstrated in crop yields reported in homestead proof documents. Her research was supervised by Dr. LuAnn Wandsnider.
