Aline Camargo is a Ph.D. student in Global Integrative Studies at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL), where she began her Ph.D. in August 2026. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Architecture and Urbanism from the Pontifical Catholic University of Goiás (PUC Goiás), Brazil, and her master’s degree in Project and City from the Federal University of Goiás (UFG), Brazil. Her academic work focuses on the production and transformation of urban space, with particular interest in public spaces and the relationships between people and the city.
In her master’s research, she examined the appropriation of public spaces through the relationships among the conceived, lived, and perceived dimensions of urban space, using psychogeographic and cartographic drift as research methods. Aline believes that the city is a shared space shaped by everyday experiences, interactions, and collective practices, where accessibility, sociability, and political action are deeply connected. She is particularly interested in how public spaces can foster social interaction and stronger connections between people and their environments.
