Elle Ward is a Ph.D. student in Geography at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. Her research interests include dual use of geospatial data, emerging geospatial threats, geographies of terrorism, and hermeneutics of place. She graduated from the University of Nebraska at Omaha with a Bachelor of Arts in Global Security Studies, a Master of Science in Geographic Information Science and Technology, and a Master of Science in Applied Computing and Informatics. She is a Research Assistant at the National Counterterrorism Innovation, Technology, and Education (NCITE) Center with previous experience at the Applied Research Laboratory in Intelligence and Security (ARLIS), the United States Senate, and the United States Congress. She is a 4x alumna of federal scholarships, including the National Security Language Initiative for Youth (NSLI-Y) for Russian and Tajiki Persian, the US Youth Ambassadors program to Argentina and Chile, the Fulbright Gaeltacht Award, as well as a recipient of the Clinton Global Initiative University Fellowship for anti-child marriage advocacy.
