Ibrahim Jabir is a PhD student in Global Integrative Studies (Geography) whose research focuses on political geography, including migration, borders, citizenship, human rights, and the relationship between political institutions and communities. His work examines how political and geographic processes shape people’s access to rights, resources, and opportunities, specifically within migrant and transnational communities. His academic interests also engage with contemporary immigration issues and the ways changing policies and political debates affect the lives and futures of migrant communities. His work also addresses race, religion, and community development. He holds an MS in Critical Ethnic and Community Studies from the University of Massachusetts Boston and a BA in Communication Studies from Islamic University College, Ghana.
