After serving 4 years in the Air Force, James studied geography at UNL and received his bachelors in 2025. He is working towards his master's degree in geography, with research interests in PFAS in surface water, effects of rainwater basin playas on groundwater, and transportation's shaping of rural and urban places. In his free time, James enjoys photography, gardening, making models, and spending time with his wife and dog.
