Timothy Turnquist joined the department in 2025 after earning a Ph.D. in history from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He specializes in the history of Jewish and “non-Aryan” Christian refugees from Nazi Germany. Additionally, he teaches global studies, human rights, and contemporary trends in (im)migration. He is currently the director of the Social Entrepreneurship Certificate program in the College of Arts and Sciences. He works with students, faculty, and the community to create lasting social impact through internships and other opportunities.
