Favorite book and why
One of my favorite books is “Terror in the name of God”, by Jessica Stern, where the author follows three extremists from three religious groups (Christianity, Judaism, and Islam) to understand why they are motivated to commit dramatic and violent acts of terrorism.

Favorite movie and why
My favorite movie is “The Help” because I enjoy the storyline of people of different races coming together to fight for equality during the era of the Civil Rights Movement in America.

Why Global Studies?
I chose to be a Global Studies major in order to gain as much knowledge of the world as I can. I have always loved learning about history, human rights, and government so this major seemed like a good combination of ideas.

Study abroad experience
This past semester, fall 2019, I studied abroad for three months in Seville, Spain. I took two advanced Spanish classes and two political science classes at the University of Menedez-Pelayo. I lived with a host family to improve my Spanish speaking abilities and fully immerse myself in the traditional culture of Spain. Over the course of my time abroad, I visited various cities in Spain, Portugal, UK, Switzerland, Italy, Hungary, and France.

Post-graduation plans
I plan to graduate this December 2020 but I am still trying to decide on my desired career path. My dream job would be to work in foreign affairs specializing in human rights and helping create a better world for all.
