Majors and Minors:
Geography & Global Studies with a minor in National Security Studies

Why these majors/minors?
I chose to study Geography & Global Studies to prepare myself to work in a changing and complex world by increasing my knowledge of global issues, human geography, physical geography, and geographic information systems. I would recommend choosing this major if you want to broaden your horizon, work with great people, and to find incredible opportunities!

Extra-Curriculum Experiences:
I studied Intensive German at the Freie Universität in Berlin, Germany. Additionally, I am supposed to study Turkish at the Azerbaijan University of Languages in Baku, Azerbaijan through the Boren Scholarship's Turkish Flagship Language Initiative. On campus, I participate in Model United Nations. Finally, I am interning at the Asian Community & Cultural Center as part of the Health Care Education & Advocacy program.

What is your favorite book and why?
My favorite book is "A People's History of the United States" by Howard Zinn. The book tells the history of the US from the perspective of traditionally marginalized groups, and focuses on struggles to gain rights and recognition, such as the labor movement, the suffrage movement, and the civil rights movement.

What is your favorite movie and why?
My favorite movie is Akira. The film is beautiful and a landmark in animation as an art style, while also telling a thrilling story, exploring themes of technology, loss of humanity, and environmentalism.

Post-Graduation Plans:
My ultimate career goal is to work as a geospatial analyst, either for the US Government or a humanitarian NGO.
